BIO

Matisse Gonzalez Jordán (born 1993) is a filmmaker from Bolivia with a focus on animation, living and working in Germany and Bolivia.
With the use of metaphors  and distinctive simple style , she explores emotions and traumas, presenting them in a light way.
She graduated from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (2019).

Her graduation film GRAVEDAD won several awards including the award for best animated film at the Melbourne International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Ottawa International Animation Festival. The short was nominated for the ANNIE Awards, the Premios Quirino and long-listed for the Academy Awards 2022.

Matisse is the creator of ERA SOLO UNA ROCA QUE SE PARECÍA A ALGUIEN, a pilot episode for her own series for Cartoon Network.

Matisse is now developing CONDENADITOS, a feature film with Studio Seufz in Germany and Celeste Studio in Bolivia.
